An Exploration of Terracotta
Terracotta has a rich history spanning millennia. Originating from ancient civilizations like the Indus Valley, Mesopotamia, and China, it was extensively used for pottery, figurines, and architecture. Ancient Greek and Roman terracotta pottery and statues influenced European art through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance up until now.
I reflect on this rich history as I use terracotta and traditional techniques to create contemporary pottery and sculptures.
